Options Available for Placenta Capsule Preparation
BALANCED: After the placenta is washed, it is cut into thin strips and fully dehydrated at 160ºF, which is compliant with food safety standards. It takes approximately 12 – 14 hours to dehydrate completely. This method is associated with increased energy and produces the highest quantity of capsules of the two methods.
STEAMED: After the placenta is washed, it is steamed to purify and warm as believed in Traditional Chinese Medicine. This is sometimes referred to as TCM, or The Chinese Method of preparation. Once steamed, the placenta is sliced into strips and fully dehydrated at 160ºF. It takes approximately 8 – 12 hours to dehydrate completely. This method produces the least amount of capsules due to significant loss of mass during steaming.
